Brief

The Essity Group aimed to challenge and rally elected officials around its institutional mission: breaking taboos around hygiene, especially those surrounding hygiene in school toilets.

Strategy

The agency designed a coalition strategy to unite stakeholders from the national education system, local authorities, civil society organisations, policymakers and the “À nous les toilettes” collective, in order to generate objective data on school sanitation hygiene, mobilise civil society and drive government action.

Execution

Production of an annual barometer conducted among children and parents, unveiled on World Toilet Day and at the Salon des Maires.

One roundtable discussion at the Assemblée nationale with eight Members of Parliament, and one conference at the Salon des Maires bringing together local elected officials and parents’ associations.

Three annual media campaigns targeting national business and mainstream press outlets.

Publication of an opinion piece co-signed by 38 elected officials in Le Figaro on the eve of the back-to-school period.
